YPA x Habitat for Humanity

Join Young Professionals of Albuquerque on Saturday, February 22nd, for a day of community engagement. We will be volunteering with Habitat for Humanity on repair projects for our local community.

We will be helping anything from wall layout/window & door frames, build & stand walls, wall sheathing, set trusses, sub-fascia, roof deck/underlayment, lay shingles, house wrap, windows, DOW board, soffit, prime & paint walls/ceiling, hang doors, baseboard, window sills, shelving, landscaping, detail/punch, to readying the house for partner family move in. Tools and materials will be provided along with some snacks and lunch.

Please come in work clothes – closed toed shoes, long jeans/pants (no shorts), and clothes that can get dirty and torn.

Roadrunner Food Bank: Warehouse Volunteering

Join Young Professionals of Albuquerque on Saturday, July 20th for a morning of community engagement. We will be volunteering with Roadrunner Food Bank to help organize donated items at their food warehouse.

  • Warehouse volunteers should be able to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods of time

  • Volunteers should be in relatively good health to perform tasks that may be physically demanding, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching

  • Roadrunner Food Bank is a fully functioning food warehouse, so volunteers may be working near large equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. 

15 spaces have been reserved for YPA. Please follow instructions so Roadrunner Food Bank can have an accurate headcount.

Each group member needs to complete the steps below.

  • Crocs, Slippers, Sandals, or flip-flops are not permitted. Volunteers must wear shoes with a closed toe and heel whenever working in the warehouse or distribution.

  • Shirts must cover the shoulder, shorts and skirts should be of modest length. Tank tops, tube or halter tops, midriffs, low riding pants, short shorts, or miniskirts may not be worn under any circumstance.

  • Ear buds, headphones, and mobile phones may not be used while working. You may take photos with your group before or after your volunteer shift.

  • Valuables, purses, bags, and backpacks should be left at home or secured in your vehicle.

Barrett Foundation: Volunteer Day

Join YPA as we volunteer to help clean up the grounds, as well as help assemble patio furniture and playsets benefitting the Barrett House. The Barrett House provides shelter and supportive services to women and children experiencing homelessness, creating an opportunity for them to get a safety net in place to build the stability they need to start their journey towards securing a home for themselves and their children.

Roadrunner Food Bank Warehouse Volunteering

Join the Young Professionals of Albuquerque on February 10th from 8:00am to 10:00am at Roadrunner Food Bank for a morning of volunteering and making a difference in our community! Together, we can feed hope and create a brighter future.

Warehouse volunteers are trained to check, clean, label, sort, repack, and box food and non-food packaged items, which will then be made available to partner agencies for distribution throughout New Mexico.

  • Warehouse volunteers should be able to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
